Lester B. Pearson Catholic High School Open House

Wednesday, May 3rd from 11:00am - 1:00pm

Visitors welcome from 11:00am-1:00pm

Parents and community members are invited to our school to enjoy and explore our activities.

School ambassadors will be available to guide and assist our visitors upon arrival!

Front foyer: Pearson celebrates Canada’s 150th!!! Students have their photo taken with the flag from Parliament Hill that visited Vimy Ridge! These photos will become a collage in the shape of our flag.

Learning commons: Open for viewing/ educational activities/ 21st Century Learning.

High School Gym: Intramurals: Indoor soccer playoffs (11:45 - 12:15)

Fitness Room: View our new addition!

Chapel:  Open for viewing;

English Second Language: (Room 112): Students display of our digital book of Coming to Canada stories to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Canada and  a variety of multicultural snacks for sale.

Cooking: (Room 101): Come in and visit students in our kitchen for some free treats!

Auto shop: Car repairs.

Art classes and Media Arts: Projects available for viewing;

Woodworking shop: Projects available for viewing;

Drama (gym stage):  Grade 12 students are directing Grade 10/11 students in a short scene;

ELD (room 130): Guided reading circles in small groups;

Co-op: Job opportunities and initiatives for workplace;

Student Services:  Counsellors answer questions regarding curriculum and pathways;

English:  (Room 210) Creating a book of students’ stories on coming to Canada and specifically to Pearson.

Math: (room 212)Trivia contest for High School students in room 212 from 11:30 - 12:15;

Best Buddies: (room 214) from 11:30 - 12:10

Individual classrooms (language arts, social studies): Personnel available to present videos, projects and 21st Century Learning initiatives;

Grade 7-8 activities:

  • Arts displays;

  • Science (room 107): Projects on display

  • grade 7 and 8 students: (during the week) "escape room" type challenge to solve math problems that will lead them to lockers. The solutions to their problems will give them the locker combination. They will have to open and find 6 different lockers before getting to the final prize.
